about
These lyrics bubbled up out of me when I was auditing a test for some extra cash. I don't have any recollection of what the test was, but the room was absolutely silent. The absence of noise was replaced with an exuberant stillness of squeaky chairs, buzzing fluorescents, and pencil erasing. I kept mouthing the words "your metallic words burn like acid spilling from your mouth" over and over again so as not to forget them. My metallic words were spilling from my mouth, and if anybody had looked into the corner where I was stationed, they may have thought the visual quite odd. Ten years later, here we are.
Fun fact: those are notes played by my beloved Gidget at the end. Their stem is called Gidget Noodles 🍜
lyrics
Your metallic words burn like acid
Spilling from your mouth.
Your evil intentions manifest
From the beast down south.
Lift the seat and hold my hair,
Lovers know each other from a single stare.
But I guess we don't got that magic anymore.
Oh we ran out of all our lives before we really needed them
Didn't pack room for all the lies, cheats, god we truly needed it
I know what you want from me.
Not gonna let you take it from me.
Wipe the dribble of spit off of your chin.
Look in the mirror to face all of
Your indirect and unintentional sins.
Pepper your face with a longterm kiss,
Imagine what life is like with eternal bliss,
And know that you will never, ever grasp it, honeybee.
Oh we ran out of all our lives before we really needed them
Didn't pack room for all the tears, shame, god we truly needed it
Oh we ran out of all our lives before we really needed them
Didn't pack room for all the tears, shame, god we truly needed them
God, we truly needed them.
God, we truly needed them.
